AIK Eyes Transfer of Jeppe Kjaer from Bodø/Glimt

AIK may be on the verge of signing a player from Bodø/Glimt. Expressen reveals that the Stockholm club has initiated contact regarding the acquisition of Danish player Jeppe Kjaer, 21, and both parties are working on a deal.

AIK is expected to bring in a couple of players to strengthen the squad for the gold race and the upcoming European qualifiers, which will take place in just over a month.

Expressen can disclose that AIK is working on signing Jeppe Kjaer from the Norwegian giant Bodø/Glimt and that the clubs are already in contact about a transfer.

Kjaer is a player well-known to AIK's coach Mikkjal Thomassen, as he coached the Dane at Fredrikstads FK in Norway.

Player Wants to Join AIK

One reason AIK is pursuing Kjaer is that Thomassen holds the player in high regard.

The 21-year-old has only played one match in the Eliteserien this season and is reportedly keen to move to the Stockholm club. Kjaer is primarily an attacking midfielder who can play as a number ten but can also take on a wing position.

Kjaer, however, made substitute appearances against both Lazio and Tottenham in the Europa League last season, where he notably provided an assist against Spurs.

AIK has high hopes of finalizing the Kjaer deal, and the next week or two will likely determine the outcome of the recruitment effort.

In addition to playing for Bodø/Glimt and Fredrikstad, Jeppe Kjaer has also played for Ajax, who signed him at 16, AC Horsens, and Sandefjord – and he has several youth international caps for Denmark on his record.
